KOP x Kunstloc: KOPCafé fieldtrip Verbeke Foundation

De wereld staat op een kantelpunt. Klimaatverandering, schaarste aan grondstoffen en vervuiling vragen om nieuwe manieren van denken en maken. Circulariteit is daarbij niet alleen noodzakelijk, maar opent nieuwe mogelijkheden voor hoe kunstenaars werken, experimenteren en samenwerken. Daarom nodigen KOP en Kunstloc Brabant je uit voor een inspirerende eendaagse fieldtrip naar de Verbeke Foundation in België.

De Verbeke Foundation is een bijzondere kunstsite in België waar hedendaagse kunst, natuur en hergebruik van materialen samenkomen. Veel werken gaan over ecologie, vergankelijkheid en consumptie. Daarmee is het een inspirerende plek om te zien hoe circulariteit in de kunstpraktijk vorm krijgt.

Programma is onder voorbehoud van eventuele wijzigingen

  • 09:30- 11:00 uur: Vertrek per bus vanuit Breda Centraal richting Verbeke Foundation (Kemzeke, BE)
  • 11:00 – 12:00 uur: Rondleiding door Geert Verbeeke
  • 12:00 – 12:45 uur: Lunch + inspiratie lezing Marien Korthorst, CIRCO
  • 12:45 – 13:15 uur: Talk van kunstenaars Noud Sleumer en Carolien Weerstand
  • 14:00 – 15:30 uur: Deelnemers kunnen op eigen tempo Verbeke Foundation verkennen, of in kleine groepjes in gesprek over hoe circulaire principes een plek kunnen krijgen binnen hun eigen praktijk.
  • 15:30 uur: Vertrek bus terug naar Breda

For this reason, KOP and Kunstloc Brabant invite you to join an inspiring one-day field trip to the Verbeke Foundation in Belgium.

The Verbeke Foundation is a unique art site where contemporary art, nature and the reuse of materials come together. Many of the works engage with themes such as ecology, impermanence and consumption, making it a highly inspiring place to explore how circular principles can take shape within artistic practice.

Programme (subject to change):

  • 09:30 – 11:00: Departure by bus from Breda Central Station to the Verbeke Foundation (Kemzeke, Belgium)
  • 11:00 – 12:00: Guided tour led by Geert Verbeke
  • 12:00 – 12:45: Lunch and inspirational talk by Marien Korthorst, CIRCO
  • 12:45 – 13:15: Talk by artist Noud Sleumer en Carolien Weerstand
  • 14:00 – 15:30: Free exploration of the Verbeke Foundation, or small group discussions on how circular principles can be embedded in participants’ own practices
  • 15:30: Departure by bus back to Breda (arrival around 17:00)
